Wherever there are hurricanes, you'll find homes raised --sometimes required by local building codes. A building can be a generic beach cottage, or with touches like stilts, it could be made specific to a particular place. Along with the deck, this makes for an impressively accurate miniature. Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteThe stilts are to help prevent damage from high water. Some beach houses have them - after Sandy, it seems like a good idea.
